Key to Successful Property Investor

What differentiates successful property investor and unsuccessful one? I believe there are many differences among the two; however I just want to start with the very basic difference but yet fundamental, the burning desire to win.

In the book of Think and Grow Rich chapter 2, I found interestingly the story about the warrior that went into the war. This warrior is having armies much less than the enemy. His troop also does not have a weapon as complete as the enemy. Logically he won’t be able to win the battle. However, after reaching the border to the enemy with the boat, the army went out of the boat and the warrior burn the boat. He said to his troop, “You see the boats going up in smoke. That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice – we win or we parish!” From that story I learn that the very basic secret to win in every battleship, including in property investment is to have a burning desire to win. Like a warrior who gives encouragement to his armies as if there is no choice win or parish.

Now, how do we know that we already having a burning desire to win? There few simple questions that we can ask to our self and only our self who can answer and measure if we have a burning desire to win or not. We can ask our self a simple question such as what if we don’t win the battleship, are we going to say, “oh it’s ok, maybe there are some other opportunities” or are we going to say, “I do not win this time, but I am learning and I am going to win in next opportunity”. There is a big different in the both answers. The first answer just simply tell us that we do not have yet a burning desire to win, while the second one tells us that we accept the temporary lost, but doesn’t mean that stop us to win in the next turn.

But how many times we can accept to lose?  There is no exact formula as how many times we can accept the failure on so call “learning’ to win. Even the very famous person like Thomas Alfa Edison, fail hundreds, and even thousands time to become a great inventor like him. The determination to win will determine the success of journey.
